SocaKids delivers soccer coaching programmes for boys and girls.
The programmes are original and the children learn skills such as Maradonna and Cruyff turns, Ronaldo &
Ronaldhino stepovers, disguised passes, first touch, Coerver & Brazilian
moves, starting with the fundamentals of the moves, building through
repetition to execution with limited pressure to clever use in a game
context.
Tactical movement, positioning and understanding is thought in a way that
even the youngest children learn to play out from the back with a 'keepers
roll' to their team-mates dropping wide and deep as soon as the
'keeper-sweeper' picks up the ball! Not only that but watch central and
forward positioned players go wide for a pass down the line. Hear the
children calling for team-mates to lend 'big support', go 'wide' in attack,
'drop back' in defence, use 'space', guard the 'scoring zone', attack the
'danger zone' and more, much more!
Physical development takes place, including good habits of warm-ups,
cool-downs and an introduction to speed, agility and quick footwork.
Personal development and teamwork takes place, the children learn early on
that there is no I in TEAM.
Fast decision making under pressure is learned, from positioning to when to
pass, switch and dribble.
All our coaches are experienced, qualified and chosen for their knowledge
and especially for their communication-with-children skills, child
protection best practice is a priority.
The children learn about soccer in a way that will stand to them in years to
come and have lots of fun and make friends.
The inaugural and hugely popular and successful SocaKids Castleknock Celtic
F.C. Childrens Academy commenced in September 2007 in Castleknock, Dublin,
Ireland and takes place on Saturday mornings with between 90 and 100
children taking part.
